Defining moments of characters
I was just wondering what people here thought about the defining moments of characters in the show. What do you think your favorite character's greatest, most touching, summ-it-all-up scene was? And why do you think that is? (Actually it doesn't have to be your favorite character; you can list your opinions about any character.)
Here's some off the top of my head:
Silverbolt: his defining moment (imho) was his talk with Optimus and subsequent break-out from quarters in "The Agenda Part 2." Why: because I believe Silverbolt's whole purpose is Beast Wars is to show love when others will not, to speak when others are silent, and to do weird stuff in a dismally ordinary war. When Silverbolt speaks to Optimus, he was making a stand for mercy and love, and when he broke out of quarters, he was taking valiant action toward that goal.
Dinobot: Hmm...I think his defining moment was in "Code of Hero," when he says "I AM a warrior." Why: because he finally realizes than even with all his doubts, he CAN have a great destiny and do something noble for the sake of others.

Oh man I got tonnes where all the characters inspire me
Optimus Primal:The Episode 'Optimal Situation' where he meets optic to optic with a brifely awakened Optimus Prime. When looking at the two Primes I felt an awe of how much one generation has passed in the Transformers Franchise.Primal may not be the exact leader as many expected to be,but comparing how similar they are,Primal has a lot to learn to be like Prime...but the twist being that he surpassed Prime in many ways.Primal may not know that and niether did we at the time.It is a honour for Primal to see Prime...but,I bet,it was an honour for Prime to see Primal before the Great War.
Cheetor:I believe it's 'Other Victories' where he was the only one of the whole Series that seen the Sparks of Tigatron and Airazor returning to Earth, witnessing the character Tigerhawk for the first time. The pregmatic sight that Cheetor has was the last time we would ever see it,and that Cheetor does not show himself as a rebellious teenager, but more of a mature being, happy to see his 'brother' and 'sister' after believing that they are long dead.He really evolved since then.
Rattrap:Dark Glass.Though the Episode never existed on air it was still one of the inpsiring moments where Rattrap went beyond his character. The relationship he had between himself and Dinobot showed that Rattrap still mourned for the death of his friend and brother in arms. The risks he went through in order to have some peace with TMII Dinobot was very inspiring yet tragic, knowing that it is hard to let go of someone you care about, even in death.
Rhinox:I believe I aim to the Episode 'Dark Designs' as we see Rhinox far more wily when becoming a Predacon, not to mention a total powerhouse in the process.Him alone can defeat the Predacons no problem, but it made me realize that I adore the gentle-sparked Maximal...but now we know how far Rhinox's potentials can go when becoming a fighter.
Airazor: The moment in 'Other Voices' where she was shown more often than mere scenes. We now know what she was like;curious, crafty, and is caring towards her teammates in the struggle against the Vok.She shows her strong will in the Beast Wars, and was sadly one of her only time that she was in the limelight this long.
Tigatron: The Episode 'Law of the Jungle' really showed his character very well.A pacifist in his own right and very caring to the planet he calls home;not Cybertron, but of Earth. His scene with Dinobot was very surprising,as the two of them share an equal and respect with one another, considering that there are rare moments where a Maximal/Autobot would contain a conversation with a Predacon/Decepticon regardless of their ideals and 'ways' of persuation.
Silverbolt: 'The Agenda:Part II' for the same reasons 7Knight-Wolf said.
Dinobot: 'Maximal No More'.I know 'Code of Hero' defined Dinobot for who he is and what he stood for,but before the Finale, there was the Prelude. This Episode really inspired me for great reasons. The history between Dinobot and Megatron is still a story that needs to be told, and how informal they speak to one another showed how close they once were.Dinobot showed himself that he can play the 'Doublepunch' character, but at a price. He knew that saving the future, particularly the Autobots not only shows his treachery to his heritage, where in the beginning was proud of,proved to me that if he lived,he would grow to become an honourary Maximal,a shining example that there is a chance to change on person's ideal to that of Prime or any other valiant hero...and at last,he proved that well in 'Code of Hero'
I will gladly get to the Predacons later.

Dang, Wonko beat me to some of the stuff I wanted to say, but I agree with what she said about Maximal No More. I figured a lot of us probably agree that Code of Hero is a defining moment for Dinobot, but Maximal No More helped define his character as well, which is probably why it's always been one of my fvaorite episodes. In a way it did kind of help set the stage for Code of Hero.

Wow, Wonko, those are good ones!
Now that you mention it, I guess "Maximal, no More" could be an even more character-defining scene than "Code of Hero." I mean, in "Maximal, no More" he actually chooses to rejoin Optimus even though he makes it very clear that Megatron has the upper hand in the war. What other Predacon would do something so selfless--joining the underdogs and ignoring the desire for personal glory?
Tigatron: I totally agree that his defining moment was in "Law of the Jungle." Why: for me, it's because he decides to continue fighting not to Destroy, but to Protect. Actually that episode is a great defining episode for Beast Wars as a show! Maximals stand for truth, or protecting what is true and good; the Predacons stand for glory and conquest, or survival of the fittest.
Rattrap: I think his defining moment was sometime in "Coming of the Fuzors part 1." Here he really shows that he's not just a rude careless guy all the time--he can step up to the plate and lead the Maximals when he needs to. Also, it's one of the few times that Rattrap admits to some emotions: the stress of leading, the anger that came from losing Optimus, the worry he shows for Rhinox, and the releif he shows when Dinobot walks in to help.
Cheetor: I think his was in "Feral Scream," when his beast mode is still feral and Optimus helps him calm it. Why: because I think Cheetor is a lot deeper than he lets on, and as shown by his nightmare and other various examples, he feels insiginficant, lost; like a wild beast too far from his territory. But Cheetor isn't too far gone to allow somebody to help him past his fears. That's a really good sign, also proving the bond between Optimus and Cheetor.

Hmmmm....I shall mention some different one me thinks.
Silverbolt: Bad Spark, where we first see his noble intentions and the romance subplot truly begins.
Rat Trap: A Better Mousetrap, until this point we really don't see what RT is capable of. Also it shows us what he's willing to risk to save his friends.
Optimus Primal: Gorilla Warfare, now hear me out on this. The episode starts with some of his better characterization, in him teaching Dinobot to explore and be curious about things for their own sake. However do to the Cyberbee we see Optimus turning a negative into something he can use, and using his power and speed to great effect. He never truly becomes a berserker but instead uses as much of his processor as he can to eliminate the Preds then throws their little present back at them in the last minute (right where a flower showed him dinosaurs can't reach.)
Tigatron, I agree with Law of the Jungle but I also want to add Call of the Wild. Where Tigatron shows the other Maximals that their animal forms are a strength and are for more then merely protection from Energon.
Megatron: The Agenda Part 2, Megs in this episode goes from captive with no troops to destroyer of Optimus Prime with a G1 Decepticon backing him up. He manipulates and twists till his plan is complete.
Tarantulas: Way back in the The Web, shows just what a sick little mad scientist he is. "It's the act I enjoy not the nourishment!" Creepy little spider.
For Black Arachnia I like possession, for how quickly and easily she switches to Screamer's side and back again (and her line at the end to ol Screamer.) Though the Maximal version of her will need a diffirent episode.
Hmmmm....Rampage is definitely best defined in "Transmutate" where he is shown to be more then an insane killing machine.
As much as I don't like the kitty, Cheetor in "Equal Measures" he's trying to prove himself, but once he finds out a problem he adapts and figures out how to help the Maximal cause.

Although I agree on all accounts with every single moment I wanted to add one.
Dinobot: "Guerilla (or Gorilla) Warfare." Though it wasn't exactly a super big defining moment, Dinobot captured MANY fangirls on the last minute of the episode. I think he also managed to convey to the audience that he wasn't just some brute who switched sides. He was capable of showing some kind feelings toward Optimus through his words and his gift flower.

What Tor said. That episode is what made a Dinobot fan.
Though I also think the episode "Cutting Edge" did show another side of BA. She did save Jack and Una at least twice in that episode and the second time she saved them, she did put herself in harm way to protect them. It did show that she might have a little bit of selfless side. But the second time, she claimed that she slipped, so that kind of gave me the impression that was she didn't want admit she had a good side. I think it kind of gave an interesting persecptive on her character. Man, I am so not good at explaining these things.

Here's some more.
Blackarachnia: I think her defining moment was in "Proving Grounds." I really don't like the way that new writer of that episode portrayed Silverbolt, but he did a smashing job with BA. I was thinking of the part where she is sitting by the pond and captureing that poor butterfly. Why: because here she lets on her real feelings, the REAL things I believe she has struggled with all along: the feeling that nobody understands her. "Silverbolt is every bad girl's dream, but his Maximal pals would rather scrap me than accept me for who I am." It's such a deep, personal moment for her!
Quickstrike: sure he doesn't have a lot of character, but his moment (such as it is) is in "Tangled Web." He says there "ain't nothing" that moves (crawls, climbs, etc.) that scares him. Why: this is his moment because it shows how much he wants to prove himself. He wants to impress everyone and hates it when he can't.
What about Waspinator?

Waspinator: ^ Nemesis Pt. 1, by FAR. Seriously, just one word needs to be said.
"No."
And then he gives Quickstrike, Inferno and the whole Predacon cause the verbal smackdown of his life, even going so far as to break past his speech impediment. "I said NO!"
The second best defining moment is in "Coming of the Fuzors" when he sees the moon and realizes that they are on Earth, thus the signifigance of the Golden Discs, the seeded energon, EVERYTHING, beating out even the intelligent Megatron AND Primal to the punch. Not bad Waspy!
"Hmm, one moon now. *gasps* Waspinator knows!"
