Anyway, I just wanted to say six words to those disgruntled with Michael Bay's take: Uwe Boll could have directed Transformers.

For those of you who don't know of this ************* you have my pity for I must tell of this...this...monster. Uwe Boll is a director who keeps turning out horrible movies. His gimmick is that he exploits tax loopholes therefore even if the films bomb (which they do) he still makes money.

If he had gotten his hands on Transformers, who knows what nightmares he would have inflicted on people.

That's a good point! There definitely could have been a worse transformers movie(s), and the world would end if Boll directed them (sex jokes would become sex scenes).

Wow.. people are still talking about those awful movies? Glad I don't watch modern films.. though then again I played the videogame.. which basically was the movie with the twins and jokes removed. It kinda makes single player tolerable I guess.

haha Uwe Boll's boxing matches are ridiculous. Even if you can beat your critic in a fist fight doesn't make your movies any better. Didn't he get the memo?

Well it is good that Bay got his hands on the movie rights. he himself said he was a fan of the series so I guess that gives him points so to speak.

a transfan making a movie for something he loves. Hehehe cool. Not the way I'd do it but cool.

Iunno, fans making movies to me isn't something I like. TMNT was slightly messed up as well from a Leo/Raph fan creating it, which led to a movie revolving around those two, leaving poor Don and Mikey out in the cold.

Sometimes, a fan wants to put their own spin that they think would be great,for them. They need to remember that just because they enjoy their ideas, it doesn't mean that the rest of the fans will enjoy it.

And I think that's where fan directors go downhill and miss the whole point of directing. It's for everyone to enjoy...not just them.

However, better a fan to make a film about something than a person who completly hates it and is just doing it for money.

Trust me, I doubt a director would take on a script he hated.. if he hates it, then the actors will hate him, there could be rebellion of no one willing to work with the director.

That's why some movies, I believe, go through three or four directors before finding one who's 'passionate' about the movie. Cause if you(the director) don't take the movie seriously, no one on your cast will, it won't make money, and then you'd be labeled as a director that no one will work with, and you'll die a hack.

Of course..that's my opinion on it, and I'm a cynic, lol..

Also, anyone find a script of the movie? I'd much rather read the script then watch the movie.

TMNT script was AMAZING, SO much better than the movie, I mean the parts they cut out would have blown my mind at the movie.

But alas, they didn't, so if anyone could locate a script of the first and second movie, perhaps I'd be more inclined to like it..(The TF movies)

Nope I haven't seen a script for the movie. But I do own the novel adaption of the 2007 movie. It's a bit better than the movie was and I enjoy reading it. There are a few differences as well. Like Jazz dies by getting his spark ripped out of his chest by Megatron instead of just being ripped in half... yeah..

Well there can be actors who don't like the parts they are given. Like the guy who played Edward Cullen in Twilight. I heard he HATED playing the guy.
