NaitoKage wrote:As for the flashlights, I asssumed it'd be possible for the weapons to have them, or have them as a option.. kinda like some soldier's who carry such things.. out of the group, Orcariner being a guard seems possible he'd have some accessories for his gun, and the light would use far less energy then leaving your swords on to illuminate areas. That's why I assumed the same for Steelclaw and maybe Whitegrazer having something for her pistol.

As for energon levels, perhaps certain rock densities or minerals could block out radiation. Otherwise certain characters who have no alternate sensory systems are going to be clinging to Glowstick being the only creature that can act as a living flashlight.*LOL*

Either that or carry Raw energon on a stick or something..
I think Glowstick and Cecaelia (I think) should probably be split up since both have natural light sources. If there's not energon radiation, Orcariner could remain in robot mode and use his energo swords as a light source. I agree that it would make sense for Steelclaw to have flashlights at his disposal since he's a tactical marksman. That could make up to potentially four different groups to divide our teams into with the listed characters taking point. Here's a draft and feel free to switch it up:

Cecaelia*
Megatron
Scorponok
Rhinox
Valkyrie
Saber-Fang
Inferno

Glowstick*
Optimus Primal
Cheetor
Sonar
Starshadow
Frilla
Blackarachnia

Steelclaw*
Tigatron
Airazor
Venatrix
Dinobot
Tarantulas
Rattrap

Orcariner*
Icebreaker
Whitegrazer
Terrorsaur
Manterror
Waspinator
Feralnight

Oddly enough, those rings on Cecaelia don't emit light, they're just extremely vivid/bright. Octopus can control their reflectiveness to make that brighter, as well as color and other effects.. Only Squid and Cuttlefish have photophores or bioluminescence.

But I'm sure Rhinox carries a flashlight since he does alot of repairs.. Inferno's gun probably can do similar with it's flamethrower or something. Scorponok probably wont have any issues in the dark since alot of scorpions are nocturnal anyway.

Oh, I just remembered, Tarantulus does have his horde of spider drones, he could release a few of those to follow him around and illuminate a tunnel. I suppose Scorponok could do the same with his Cyber bee since it has a holographic projector on it, it could probably project light from it's head. Or Cecaelia can borrow Glowstick's squid drone since that thing can follow basic voice commands and just follow someone around giving off light.

Wow, lots to take in what has been posted. XD

For the energon thing, since it would be trap, what could happen is the energon could bulid up energy and knock everyone out cold (maybe the ground starts shaking then they get knocked out by the trap) They could all wake up together...all Maxis and Preds.

About the labyrinth... maybe all they all start on a circle (when they all come to) and there are different paths into every directions (teh number depending on the groups we have so if we go with the list we have 3-4 diferent paths) which causes them to separate.

I like the group lists =)

Yeah, Preds working together? Hard but not impossible especially if it comes to their own survivial (some will need more convincing then others. Because some are insane and hatred for Maximals and all but there are sensible ones. ). Still, Trust but vertifiy. =) Basic rule here XD

Also, if everyone likes the idea, to increase the danger maybe, they can't use weapons because it could cause a seismic event and bury them alive (Another reason they can't try to kill each other...with firing weapons anyway. XD)

I would love anymore ideas you guys have. I want to make sure this is all possible and believeable as we can get it. Anything we need to add? any changes?

Also, love any ideas on how to do the traps. Anyway, to make them unigue for each of the groups?

Anymore to add to make this more dangerous? XD

I have a few idears. Quicksand, maybe stalactites falling down on them or the ceiling collapsing and other stuff I can not think of at the moment.

Heh, reminds me alot of D&D. Those sort of traps can be anything from pitfalls, hidden blades swinging out, projectiles like arrows or darts, crushing walls, fire, or rolling boulders.

Haven't had much time to look at this board the last few weeks but really seems a awesome idea! Though one quick question since my characters weren't on the list, would you like them to just do their own thing or just hold off till later? Whatever you guys want done is cool with me. :D Just was curious.

Sorry, Wintersong! I'll go ahead and redo the list with more accurate body count. Asterisk indicates the point man for the group (but not necessarily the leader):

Tarantulas*
Megatron
Scorponok
Rhinox
Valkyrie
Saber-Fang
Inferno
Snow Trix

Glowstick*
Optimus Primal
Cheetor
Sonar
Starshadow
Frilla
Blackarachnia
Wintersong

Steelclaw*
Tigatron
Airazor
Venatrix
Dinobot
Cecaelia
Rattrap

Orcariner*
Icebreaker
Whitegrazer
Terrorsaur
Manterror
Waspinator
Feralnight

Hm.. Looking over that list.. that basically means someone is going to have to mostly DM 30 characters for traps and in a maze like set up....which brings one question.. Why would either side send their entire army to do something that would be more of a scouting situation?

Personally, I'd like for the 'bots to be able to use their weapons. To have to make a conscious decision about whether or not to fire at the opposing side would say more about the characters, and it'd allow for a bit more unpredictability in the story.

I think if I'm reading everyone else's posts correctly, most still want for the characters to not know they're walking into a maze. So if it's an energon grab on open land that the Vok are using as bait, I think there'd be good reason to send a lot of troops, like in Chain of Command. Admittedly there were still only 10 characters total in that point in the show, but everyone came then. Of course, they wanted to investigate it for its alien qualities too.

But, then again, it would seem like both sides would have learned to be wary of energon deposits, so yeah, I see what you're saying. Maybe there needs to be a second story running?
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

It'd make it more easier on everybody in the long run I believe. A second mission could be a option, and I imagine that yes the Maximals and predacons would be wary of massive energon deposites or any unnatural looking sites simply because of in and out of episode alien experiences.

This is just a suggestion, but we can probably leave some of the Canon characters back at base for defense. Since this is a completely original episode, we don't specifically need any character. I think this is going to be a lot of character development for our OC's and/or characters we like. I can't speak for anyone, but some people do have a lot of characters and most canon characters don't really need development so they might get in the way. Completely up to their owners though.

I kind of feel like it would be weird for Optimus to leave the base unguarded for this since it could be a predicon trap and megatron has been known to attack the maximal base while they are away.

This idea is sounding more interesting by the post (amazingly I read all the posts in the threat after my previous post before I went to work, phew! I got home at midnight.)

Although my baby is getting ready to arrive, I think I'd like to be a part of the plot. If I do get hospitalized during the episode, a normal delivery usually involves getting out within 3 days. Not sure I'd want to sit out the entire length of the episode (potentially over a month) for. That.

I did notice Nemesis was not mentioned in the list either. :(

Well we assumed you'd be drained and busy taking care of the baby. Though.. my other friend that had a baby five days later was doing DDR in an arcade.. so.. I guess that's entirely possible. Okay, So do you want Nem involved in the scouting maze mission or an alternate one?
