(( OOC: Welcome back, DarkSpark!

Thank you, una. We'll see if I can get it done in time. Kind of wigging out right now about it. ))
"Optimus," "we're on our way now."
Primal continued on his way to the command center after Orcariner's acknowledgement. He wondered how well the orca was holding up but he supposed he'd find out soon enough. He had to have been devastated, and just as furious if not moreso than Optimus was several moments ago.
"Least not all Predacons are like that Rattrap, a few of them have had some restraint from taking a life."
"Yeah," Rattrap said somewhat thoughtfully. Of course, the only one he could think of right then who was a current Predacon was Onyx. Maybe SnowTrix, too, but he hadn't interacted with her enough to pursuade himself otherwise. He glanced at Feralnight for second, thinking he had heard her mutter something under her breath, but his attention was quickly diverted to Starshadow's observation.
"so where's Icebird-in-a-tuxedo? I didn't see him around."
"He's no longer with us Star, he was...terminated during the attack on the Axalon."
The rodent simply passed a small glare at the Predacon renegade or whatever she called herself. What did she care about Icebreaker?

Approaching the bridge with Orcariner's thudding footsteps in tow, Tigatron immediately spotted Airazor and a blanket of concern rolled over his face. Judging by her posture, facial expression, and the mood set by everyone else that was wafting in the air, something tragic had happened. Also, what was that unfamiliar scent...? Starshadow? Well, this was an unexpected surprise. What was she doing there? But his priority was his aerial guardian, so ignoring everything else, he promptly made his way to be by her side. "Airazor? What has happened?" he asked her softly, gently taking one of her hands.

It was then when the Maximal Commander returned to the bridge with Rhinox, quickly counting the faces, and also measuring Orcariner's appearance. Cheetor and Dinobot were on their way, but two others were missing; Aurora and Whitegrazer. I thought I told everyone else to remain here, he thought more bitterly than he had intended to. "Where are Whitegrazer and Aurora?" asked Primal in a tone that suggested he wasn't in the mood for more disobedience.

"Uh, Aurora got upset 'bout something, so she took off," the Maximal Spy answered. "'Grazer went after her, probably ta calm her down and coach her ta back," Rattrap suggested, hoping his answer would calm the leader.

Something about Whitegrazer's spark told Optimus that the rat's assumption was not far off and perhaps they needed some time. So he decided to move on. He needed to know what Ironclaw had found. Instinct was telling him that they were on the brink of losing this war. But to whom or when was unclear. "After tonight's events, the brig's security admittance can only be approved by myself and Rhinox," Primal announced to the entire group. Looking at the rat, he demanded, "Rattrap, report."

"Oh, uh, well, Valkyrie definitely went in on her own," Rattrap began to explain. "Can't tell why, although she hesitated enterin' the brig as if she couldn't make up her mind, but she definitely wanted ta talk to Nemesis. Things were calm at first, you know, just chattin', and then they began ta escalate. I don't know why or anythin' dat was said, but Nemesis snapped, and... well... you know. But then she was trapped with no way out, so dis was weird. She took Val's blade and sliced her own wrist on purpose. Looked pretty damaging. And then she held her wound up to the door which seemed ta be able to eat through it and unlock it. Now, I'm wonderin' how she was able to do that when her nanites were supposed to be too slow to operate that fast. You know?"

With a nod, Optimus added, "The temperature had been increased. That's the only way. But Valkyrie wasn't the one who did it. Rattrap, look through the ship's logs and see if you can find out when the temperature was tampered with." That would give him a better idea as to who was in the base at the time who might have been at the controls.

Nodding, he turned around and began digging through the Axalon's data that day, scrolling through all of the recordings, commands and changes. Rattrap was relieved that Optimus seemed to have pulled himself together even if he appeared to be a bit stern right now, but he had no doubt it was the help of wisdom and guidance that Rhinox must have provided him. Thank Primus for that!

"I'd also like to point out, for those who don't already know, Starshadow has decided to join us, and I hope everyone will give her the same chance you gave a few others who have also previously joined our team and have certainly proven themselves more than once." The commanding officer stood there for a silent moment, gathering his thoughts before he moved on. "Today has been a long and very tragic day. We've lost two extraordinary Maximals, and I offer my deepest condolences to those who were closest to them." Pausing, Optimus glanced up at Orcariner, just for a second, before returning his gaze to the entire group. "While I do believe Icebreaker's death was not intentional, I will review further evidence in hopes to find a clearer conclusion. As for Valkyrie's death, I can only blame myself for holding someone as dange-... unpredictable as Nemesis in our brig. However, she did disobey direct orders, and... unfortunately... this was the consequence of her actions. Everyone needs to understand that I don't just give orders for something to do or to be challenged, I have reasons behind each one, and they're for your protection as well as your safety. Once you veer away from them...," he shook his head lightly and a gentle sadness washed over his face, "...anything can happen. We can grieve for our friends, but we must also continue to wage this war in their honor. Which leads me now to Ironclaw. While Aurora and I met with Megatron to confront him about Glowstick's attack on our base earlier with the Leviathan and several other Predacons, he assured us that he was unaware of the act taking place and that our cease-fire still stands. I hate to say it, but I believe he was telling the truth. After all, it would seem Glowstick paid the ultimate price for taking matters into his own hands. So, with the help of Airazor and Rattrap, Ironclaw successfully infiltrated the Darksyde and has acquired some valuable information." At least he hoped it was valuable. Growing quiet, Primal looked to Ironclaw, offering him his chance to tell everyone what he discovered with the alien artifact that Inferno had uncovered much, much earlier that day. Or the day before by now.
"Well, that's just prime!"

"Ooooooh retribution for ramming his hand in my gut few years ago." Starshadow smirked when Rattrap gave her a glare.
Where are Whitegrazer and Aurora?
Uh, Aurora got upset 'bout something, so she took off. 'Grazer went after her, probably ta calm her down and coach her ta back.
The kid needs a mom, that's all.. she thought. It was time for what Ironclaw had to say, it was her intention to find out when they were in the Darksyde. "Ooooh storytime! Is it about Megatron and his little rubber ducky? she joked.

* * * * * *

Unit Glowstick terminated.

Terminated?! That's not possible! Cecaelia's was full of disbelief and confusion, "Computer, track Unit Glowstick!"

Unit Glowstick terminated.

She could not believe what she had just heard. Glowstick was fine and well when he came back from the first mission. How was it possible for him to be classified as dead?! Cecaelia didn't want to accept the truth, so she ran outside the Leviathan and searched for her precious friend. Just when she was at the corridoors of her comrades quarters, the last place she was looking, she fell on her knees and broke down with his name said with full of sorrow.

"Airazor? What has happened?"
Upon hearing the voice of the other maximal, Airazor's spirits were immediately lifted. It felt as if she hadn't seen Tigatron for an eternity and she was overjoyed to see him standing before her and taking her hand. At least he was safe and her fears were laid to rest... for now. "Tigatron..." She spoke quietly so that only he could hear her. Without hesitation, she grabbed hold and embraced him. "I'm so glad to see you."

When the rest of the Maximal's rejoined the rest of the crew, Airazor let go of the cat and moved closer to Optimus so that they could hear better. Airazor already knew what had happened, but Tigatron was still unaware. Optimus could explain it far better than she could. What she wanted to know though, was what information Ironclaw had found. Hopefully that would be worth the sacrifice made by two of their friends.

"GGAAAHH!!!" The sudden sharp scream scared birds out of their slumber and caused them to fly off into the night. The mantis had propped the Stasis pod up onto rocks so that he could modify it better. However, as he worked he accidentally knocked one of the rocks loose and caused the pod to come crashing down on his foot. The result was a lot of pain.

After pushing the pod away, Manterror hopped around on one foot, holding his injured one in his claw and massaging it. He had been making good progress until this incident occured and hopefully it didn't damage any of his hard work! As the pain subsided, he finally let go and returned to his survey the damage. Luckily, it looked as if only he had been hurt by the fall. The pod was still intact and simply needed to be placed on the rocks again. The newly attached weaponry, multiple spinning blades and two chain-guns, looked to be in working order. Had the drive system been working, that likely would had been damaged. But, it wasn't. That was his next goal.

((OOC:  I bet it will come out cool!))
Aurora sighed softly and briefly returned Whitegrazer's hug, and stepped aside to let the taller female enter. Her quarters was among the smaller on the base, filled with memorabilia from those who meant the most to her such as Icebreaker, and the far wall had a computer terminal neatly lined up alongside some local plants the fuzor had gathered during her attempts to find a task she'd be good at.

Yet, despite all the stuff filling up the quarters, there was a certain tidiness to the clutter, as most things were somewhat neatly lined up. It wasn't always this way, but Aurora hadn't been back here often lately so the room was still fairly clean after the last time she brought it upon herself to tidy up.
Whitegrazer had hoped the hug did some good towards the young Maximal's morale. Aurora had seen and been though alot in the short life she has just awakened in. Being born in a war was a very harsh upbringing that caused young protoforms to grow up faster just like Cheetor and the others. It made her remember all those times when she was a soldier, how she had to prepare younglings for battle and find out their special abilities, assigning them duties when her superior officers weren't around and usually, they weren't. Some made it, some didn't, and she usually was there watching in disgust, sadness, and anger at such life being taken away, life that wasn't hardened, corrupted, or experience, life that was too young to perish. Despite everything, she knew how overprotective she can be towards Aurora sometimes which she had tried to lessen as suffocating the child wasn't proper either.

She really didn't take in the surroundings as she was focused on Aurora. She thought it wasn't good to peek. Though, she noticed from her optic reflexes how tidy her room was. Better organized than hers was.

It was then she had a feeling that Optimus and Rhinox had returned and she knew Optimus won't be happy that they were missing. She can get that debriefing information later. Right now, Aurora seemed to be upset and she wanted to help her as much as she could.
"It's.. complicated," the small ermine responded, trying to put on as brave a face as she could. She stepped inside the room, not wanting to debate it out in the hallway for everyone to hear.

In a much quieter tone she continued, "But I think what happened is my fault.."
Whitegrazer studied Aurora's expression, listening intently but didn't understand why Aurora would think she was at fault for anything, though was curious to hear what she wanted to say. She closed the door in the room to make sure no one heard them as it seemed Aurora was very uncomfortable even as she spoke to her.

She asked the young one softly, "Why do you think that, Aurora?"

((OOC: Phoenix, I noticed something. I was looking at NK's pics of our characters. Despite some minor differences like optic color, our characters nearly have the same color scheme. XD I just thought that was interesting. ))

(ooc: Aside from the green optics and the white furry parts from the beast mode, I actually never decided on a color scheme for Aurora. )
"Why do you think that, Aurora?"
The small ermine fuzor sighed, having hoped she wouldn't have to explain any further. She just didn't feel very good about verbalizing her suspicions on what had happened so soon since she felt truly bad about it all. But alas it didn't look like Whitegrazer wanted to jump to conclusions.

"I was doing my botanical experiment," Aurora explained with a saddened expression on her face, "And I forgot all about it with everything else that was going on. I have a bad feeling what happened to Valkyrie occurred as a result of my mistake.."

She tugged on her lip for a moment before looking up at Whitegrazer with large, green, saddened eyes.

"I don't know entirely what happened, but I see no other reason for the temperature increase in the brig at the same time. It was only supposed to increase in the lab, not elsewhere in the base, but I must have messed up somewhere. I didn't mean to.. I mean she wasn't supposed to.."

The fuzor paused, reverting her gaze to the floor instead. She really had not anticipated this happening.

Meanwhile, at the Predacon base, Nemesis found herself relieved for not having to give a longer report at present time. She had been locked up at the Maximal base for quite a while and could use some time re-cooperating after the ordeal. Yet she hardly felt like resting up at base after being locked up for so long, so she nodded in agreement to Megatron's orders and left the room to pick up some weapons on the way before enjoying the outdoors once more.

((OOC: Starshadow had better hope Orcariner didn't hear that last comment...))

Cheetor ran back into the bridge and immediately gave his report.

"All clear Big 'Bot. Dinobot should be back soon; he said he wanted to look at the circuit room."

He fell silent then and stared at the sheer number of teammates who were now in the room. "You... weren't all waiting for me, were you?"

* * *

When the door behind Dinobot slid shut, he cast a quick glance around at the room. Everything was in order- the multi-faceted central computer, the shimmering moat of disruptor fluid, the thin metal strips lining the walls. But then, he'd expected that would be true.

Without his realizing it, his arms crossed themselves across his chest. His mind was already racing to find an answer- what had Valkryie's life been for?

To hold a wealth of knowledge, and calculating speeds, beyond the grasp of most Transformers who had come before? To fight to make her body work through all the bugs that such a gift had caused? And then to meet her end, still wondering...

This, of course, was war. And war had never cared. Who could have claimed that Valkryie couldn't have died? But Dinobot thought that fate had in store one great test for all. Had she then failed, and that was the sum of her story- a natural tale?

But if her death was truly natural, then why did he now feel so mortified?

Then Dinobot was taken from out of his thoughts, for he consciously felt for the first time that his arms were trembling- he had physically been shaken.

He unfolded the arms then and snarled to himself disgustedly. "Down, thou climbing sorrow! Thy element's below."

He opened up the door and walked into the hall.

* * *

((OOC: And then it can be assumed that he makes it into the bridge for whatever happens next. I will figure out something for Steelclaw later. Homework...))
I understand... you are, after all, a predacon.

(Heh. I only used the color scheme because it looks good with white/blue. However do remember! Any and all art I do for characters that are not mine is not canon and never will be canon. particularly since I rarely ask the people I draw any details on their characters usually.. I believe I've stated this before on Aurora's art.

Megatron observed as Nemesis left, his optics going back to the screen.
Frilla wrote: "He's no longer with us Star, he was...terminated during the attack on the Axalon."

Feralnight wrote:"Least not all Predacons are like that Rattrap, a few of them have had some restraint from taking a life." "Much more worse then the team I was with,"

Megatron formed a large grin listening Well well.. the Icebird died as well, and our Maximal spy was once a traitor to our cause..Yesss.. So many gifts.. and it's not even my birthday! he then gave out a villainous laugh which echoed through the bridge.

As Cecaelia cried, a crackling noise came from her dagger, with a familiar voice heard coming from it. Can't a dead guy get any rest..? Though I guess not in your case..
Listen carefully Cecaelia because my programming doesn't have much time before this copy becomes deleted..Before you ask.. yes.. Glowstick is dead..What is speaking to you is a backup of his datatracks stored on the Leviathan.. as a cleanup process. I guess you could call this a last will and testament, as he didn't believe he'd ever get off this rock alive..

He promised alot to you, but it seems he could only keep one promise. From the upgrades from the starhopper, the Leviathan can return you to your home world in space. The information from your old navigation system have been installed into it. But you will have to make a stop to get the supplies needed to survive the trip, the Leviathan has this location mapped into it's systems and will disclose this location only to you and Steelclaw.. However, due to limitations based on the dimensions of the craft, the Leviathan will only be able to return you home.

I've also been instructed to answer any questions you may have. So you should ask them now before you no longer have the chance.

OOC: It was fine!!
Anyway, looks like there wont be much need for Megatron for the rest of this part of the episode, so I'll just cover a few loose ends..

Just wanted to mention the need for tampering with the trans-warp drive which, as far as I know, hasn't been done yet.....that's kind of how Optimus gets stuck in the stasis pod and blows up, isn't it? I mean, wasn't his whole plan to escape, but because of Megatron's tampering, he can't? Megatron, though, thinks he's going to blow up Tarantulas by tampering with it....it's only by chance that it ends up being Optimus inside.

BIC:
DarkSpark wrote:"Excellent! Let us begin, grant me access to your core so that I can access your programming and implant one of these little trinkets I keep handy on my person for just such occasions."
Tarantulas brought forth a programming chip. Arachnitron eyed the small object doubtfully. How was this small chip going to help?
"I've already internally rewrote the programming for this particular, makeshift inhibitor chip, so it should serve our purposes quite nicely until I can find the time to build a new, permanent model"

She almost turned away and refused to let him proceed. She wished she understood more about programming and such things. If she had, she might have a better idea of what this chip would do. But now wasn't the time to ponder about this. The pain was still searing through her body prompting her to speed up this little exchange. She would just have to hope that things worked the way they were supposed to. If it didn't work, they could always just try something new.
"May I proceed?"
She nodded solemnly. With that, her optics grew dark and her core computer shut down to allow Tarantulas to insert the new programming chip.

"I was doing my botanical experiment," Aurora explained with a saddened expression on her face, "And I forgot all about it with everything else that was going on. I have a bad feeling what happened to Valkyrie occurred as a result of my mistake.."
She looked at the botanical experiment that Aurora was talking about, staring at it as Aurora talked. Now, she wasn't a very technical person but there was common sense by looking at it that it did use some power, generating heat around the room and adjacent chambers. Even her temperature sensors told her it was still hot, telling her that Aurora had just turned it off seconds ago, but despite this fact, it just added to the many unknown variables surrunding Valkryie's death. If Aurora's experiment did increase the temperature, Nemesis would have recuperated, yes, but if Valkyrie hadn't entered and disobeyed orders, she will still be alive, leaving Nemesis to either be struck in the cell awaiting some visitor which would have been unlikely or the Predacon would have tried to escape with her own devices. That will have had Sentinel warn them. But Valkyrie did enter that cell heated or not Nemesis would have tried to find some way to escape her cell. It was sad to see but Valkyrie was responisble for her own death. They would never know why she did either and probably never will.

Kneeling down to Aurora's eye level, looking at the young one's saddened optics and expression, Whitegrazer tried to get Aurora's attention so the little one would look at her, "Aurora."

She softly talked to young Maximal, "Listen to me, the only one responsible for Valkyrie's death was her own. She placed herself in that position, knowingly disobeying orders and walked inside a cell of a dangerous Predacon. If your experiment did increase the cell's temperature and Valkyrie hadn't entered, she would have been still alive with us. Nemesis would had to wait long enough for us to see the temperature increase, giving us time to see the increase and correcting it. If she attempted her own escape by her own vices, Sentinel would have alarmed us just like it did now. But Valkyrie entered, not paying any attention to any signs of anything wrong in the cell and placing herself at risk for reasons we may never know or figure out. Nemesis, healed or not, would have tried to escape either way out of desperation and stubborness to escape her captivity one way or another."

"Aurora, don't blame yourself. I don't and neither would the rest because the real responsiblity fell on Valkyrie and Nemesis' hands, not you."

Whitegrazer wanted to be clear to Aurora that no matter what her experiment did, the situation would have ended the same way. No matter what one of those two Cybertronians were going to walk out of that cell, Nemesis would have made sure it was her which ended in the death of one of their own who may not have been killed if she didn't walk in the first place.

Oh Valkyrie, why didn't you talk to one of us? We could have helped you, but now, all we can do is mourn your death.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Blackarachnia watched as Tarantulas was fixing on placing something inside the gullible spider's core, shaking her head.

You are going to regret this decision, Arachnitron.

She continued to watch with her arms crossed, amused and plotting her next move.

Ironclaw saw everyone was looking to him now, even Optimus looked at him and gave him the space to speak. However Starshadow seemed interested as well, which unsettled him. He didn't trust her, plus she could just be here to find out what information he had. However, Ironclaw blamed this on Optimus, he was the one with the final say. She was here and if she betrays us, it's all on him. He would speak up now and express his concern also.
"Megatron has found a strange golden disk of alien manufacture, it was activated recently by some sort of energy anommerly. It has moving symbols on it, Megatron has translated them. It was designed to be a beacon, the aliens, the ones that seeded this planet with energon, the ones that created some sort of flying island which I'm not too familiar with. Well, theyre coming. They're on their way here and I don't think they are very happy" Ironclaw spoke aloud to the Maximals. He realised that it would be a lot to taken in but he had been keeping to himself for a while now, he had to get it out.
At this point Ironclaw drew Starshadow's pistol and pointed it at the ground and took a quick scan of the room and then focused his attention on Optimus Prime.

"You, I expected more from you. We're in this desperate situation and it's only getting worse. Im not holding you responsible for the deaths of Icebreaker and Valkyrie but they are affecting the team. And you've now agreed to a truce and letting these....Predacons to serve among us! Stop trying to be a Maximal and start being Optimus prime!" Ironclaw realised what he had just said but carried on. "We're so far away from Cybertron, around here, in this place. Being a Maximal means nothing. Now these aliens are coming? You need to sort this out now, including whatever Whitegrazer was doing with that Predacon." Ironclaw stepped towards Optimus and pushed the side of the pistol into his chest, almost giving it to him. "You give it back to her" with that Ironclaw left the bridge.

Wintersong turned her attention to the others as they arrived then, finding Frilla's idea of a shield interesting still though it seemed things were finally moving along at last. When Ironclaw finally gave his report the news of the Vok coming to the planet was unsettling, especially when they had already been facing some rough times and to know they were returning, possibly more dangerous then ever before, wasn't going to help with their already dire situation. Though if Megatron had translated some of it what did he plan to do? Stop them or use them some how? Though even to the white tigress that seemed a little unlikely since Megatron and his PRedacons had been having problems with the Vok as much as the Maximals had done so there surely couldn't be any possible way to stop them from doing whatever they had planned.

Though Wintersong's thoughts were cut short when hearing Ironclaw's next words, a little shocked at what he said to Optimus. But to mention Starshadow being able to stay there Wintersong thought the blame should have been put on her not Primal, after all the femme had been the one to mention the panther being able to join them where Optimus only gave his final say. "Ironclaw wait a moment!"She called as she stood, giving a quick glance at the others knowing they would surely be shocked as well before hurrying after the badger and grabbing his arm,"That was a little uncalled for Ironclaw, and if you should be blaming anyone with Starshadow being here it should be me. Optimus only gave the final say, I gave the suggestion."She told him though her tone wasn't stern. She only hoped the badger really wouldn't do something like that again against Primal otherwise there would be many moments the two could butt heads.

(ooc: Moving on so Whitegrazer and Aurora have a chance to catch the ending of the drama )
"Listen to me, the only one responsible for Valkyrie's death was her own.
Aurora drew a silent sigh of relief as she listened to the other Maximal's input. Although she looked away when Whitegrazer crouched down to her eye level, she could not hide a very slight, grateful smile for the reassuring words. Somehow Whitegrazer had known exactly what to say and the right time to say it this time.

"Valkyrie would still have had a chance if I hadn't started that dumb experiment.. I really didn't mean to cause any harm."

"Aurora, don't blame yourself. I don't and neither would the rest because the real responsiblity fell on Valkyrie and Nemesis' hands, not you."
The smaller Maximal nodded, then suddenly looked up as if she remembered something.

"Oh.. We were supposed to wait on the bridge. We should probably get back there before Optimus gets mad. He's already been through enough."

She grabbed Whitegrazer's hand and tugged at it, trying to pull the larger female along.

At the Predacon base, Nemesis had gathered her weapons and was leaving the base to spend some much needed time outdoors. She transformed to her beast form, casting a quick glance back at the base as she took to the skies. After being cooped up without any access to the outside for so long, it felt so great to be able to stretch her wings again. In addition to enjoying the freedom, she also wanted to avoid being at the base for a little while in case the Maximals intended to seek revenge. Yet she'd stay close by, in the event the Predacons headed out on a mission.

While still shocking, the news of Valkyrie's death did not hit Orcariner as hard as the death of Icebreaker. The reasons as to why this is was obvious, but sadness ensued regardless. The giant shook his head with disdain. Even the news of Glowstick's death caught him slightly off guard as Megatron had yet to have actually executed one of his officers for failure. The Beast Wars never really had a high volume of soldiers, and that number was dwindling even further. The sheer amount of death as of late disgusted the giant Maximal to the point where he left the bridge before Ironclaw started to speak. Orcariner knew his actions were not exactly polite to the speaker, but in his own mind he felt that he had bigger problems to deal with.

I was here in the base when Nemesis escaped. I could have stopped her from killing Valkyrie if only I had paid attention to my radar.

Except he did not, rather choosing to succumb to the effects of grief from the murder of his best friend. Rage swelled within Orcariner's spark, but it was not directed at the Predacon escapee. Instead, it was aimed at himself. He had his chance to kill Nemesis at the north pole which would have in turn prevented her from killing both Nightmist and Valkyrie. Even with the latter's demise, he was only a few corridors down with the ability to track every living transformer within a 1 kilometer radius. If he had not been so self-absorbed with his emotions, Valkyrie would still be with them in the bridge listening to Ironclaw's debriefing. Why was he still around if he was so inadequate as his job as a sentinel? How was it that Optimus still offered him missions to lead when he had never shown any proof of successful decision-making?

Why can't I stop Maximals from dying?!

Not waiting for the door to open, Orcariner launched it off its hinges with a straight shot from his fist. Walking into the hanger bay, the giant sighed with depression. This was the one place on the Axalon where he had ever felt small. It perfectly coincided with his self-image at the moment.

-------------------------------

Rhinox saw that Orcariner had abruptly left towards the end of Optimus' speech, but refused to pursue him. Again, it was never a good idea to be around such a volatile youth. He figured it was best to leave the orca to himself in the meantime. In Rhinox's experience, internal struggle is better suited to be resolved by the person experiencing it. Although, if this change in mood was going to result in more rude behavior, he would have to have to sit down talk with the soldier. The officer chose to stick around and hear what the honey badger had to say. The news of the Vok's arrival was certainly alarming. Rhinox had always prided himself in his ability to develop contingency plans in the event that the integrity of the crew as a whole was at stake. Sentinel was proof of the degree of protection that he was able to offer the team without actually entering the field. Yet, the Vok were for the most part unexplored by either faction on this world. Despite the several encounters they have experienced, the Maximal team still had relatively little knowledge of these aliens.

I need a new plan.

If the Vok were not pleased with the events on this planet, chances are their agendas was to eliminate any anomalies in their little world. The Maximals were prime examples of these anomalies. However, Rhinox's thoughts were interrupted by the sudden outburst by Ironclaw. The latter began to blame Optimus for what had transpired lately, and even questioned Primal's leadership capabilities.

What's with all the young bots being so emotional nowadays?

He refrained from speaking out, especially seeing how Wintersong was the quickest to react to Ironclaw's hot words.

See what I mean?

Rhinox looked at Optimus while Wintersong was berating the badger, and he shook his head before returning his gaze to the floor. It was never a question as to how Optimus would ever struggle keeping all of the younger crew members in line. Yet, in this very moment he wondered how he himself would fare as leader of this lot. It was an amusing rhetoric that Rhinox knew he would fail at due to fact that he was little too passive in nature. As Wintersong continued to defend Primal, the officer also thought about Ironclaw's insistence that Optimus needed to start acting less as a Maximal and more like a Prime. The number of faults in this statement alone almost raised the need for Rhinox to correct the young badger. However, similar to Orcariner's situation, the officer chose to refrain from taking any action whatsoever. On this bridge, with this audience, it certainly was not Rhinox's place to rebuke Ironclaw's complaints. That was a task intended for Optimus Primal.

Rhinox noticed that as Wintersong was speaking, Ironclaw had stormed out of the bridge. He turned to Wintersong, who's defense would never receive any sort of reply from the badger.

"Don't worry, Wintersong, things are just a little hard on him right now; on all of us, actually. Let Optimus talk to him."

While Optimus had his little resurgence in confidence back in the brig, he also needed to reinforce his authority in front of the crew. Leaders have to lead, both themselves and those who follow them. If Rhinox were to speak up as Wintersong had done, he would only be interfering with Primal's authority, delaying the captain's words as well as reducing whatever inspirational impact they may have since said words would simply be recycled from earlier rebuttals. Several crew members had taken issue with Optimus' leadership in the past, namely Dinobot and Rattrap. Optimus himself put their questions to rest as well as earned their respect. The rhinoceros had known his leader long enough to place his absolute trust in his decisions. The same could not be said for the younger Maximals on this ship. At some point, Optimus was going to have to earn their respect and trust. That time was now.

He turned to Starshadow, "You and I, however, need to have a little chat. Follow me into the hallway. Now."

As Orcariner left the bridge before Ironclaw spoke about his findings, Starshadow blinked for a moment and crossed her legs, "Whale steak probably forgot something?"
They're on their way here and I don't think they are very happy"
That was not good. The Aliens are now trying to terminate everyone in the planet after all that alien clone battle and a weird underground temple battles?! If the cybertronian race was such a pest to them, why are they coming to this dirtball personally now? To avoid this threat, an escape ship is needed. Could this be her fate? To be destroyed in this unknown planet.
"You, I expected more from you. We're in this desperate situation and it's only getting worse. Im not holding you responsible for the deaths of Icebreaker and Valkyrie but they are affecting the team. And you've now agreed to a truce and letting these....Predacons to serve among us! Stop trying to be a Maximal and start being Optimus prime! You give it back to her."
Starshadow got off the table and was about to give the badger a good punch in the face but Wintersong got to him first, without a punch.
"Ironclaw wait a moment! That was a little uncalled for Ironclaw, and if you should be blaming anyone with Starshadow being here it should be me. Optimus only gave the final say, I gave the suggestion."
"Don't worry, Wintersong, things are just a little hard on him right now; on all of us, actually. Let Optimus talk to him."
Starshadow growled at that. Talking is waste of effort if words could not sink into Ironclaw's head.
"You and I, however, need to have a little chat. Follow me into the hallway. Now."
"In a minute..." she followed the badger and pushed him to the wall with him facing it while holding his neck, "Listen here buddy, being a leader is not easy. Optimus already feels guilty about the deaths of whoever's comrades. Don't tell me how would I know what you you maximals are feeling because I DO know what it's like to loose someone you care. If you're going to be the Little Wimpy Soldier who's going to blame everyone for everything and complain that you want to be in your cozy bed at Cybertron, don't call yourself a Maximal and start wearing a pink metal sheet around your waist! " she stepped back and left him, "Cut your boss some slack. Afterall, this is a war..."

Should've give him a punch...oh well... she thought as she made her way back to the bridge to meet Rhinox, "Well..you wanted to see me?"

Probably after their chat, she could talk to Orcariner since he look like he lost something important to him.
