As for Cece, eh...I'm not sure if the glowing tips of her tentacles (that's her weapon, the tips will glow if she's using them) would be any help to have some light.
OHOHOH!! I got this idea from Aliens vs Predator or Harry Potter. Why not when in a certain time, the maze would change its pattern? That would be more challenging.
Close combat hm? Uh.. only one I can think of that is normally a expert of that in the Preds is Venatrix. I mean sure Glowstick and Cecaelia are naturally good at close combat being covered in arms.. but Glowstick learned fighting from videogames (Which if you ask him he'll respond "it's image training!.. That's the ticket!") and Cecaelia from prison I'm assuming. Hm.. well there is also BlackArachnia.. she's rather skilled in martial arts.
Cecaelia's lasers arn't as variable as Glowstick's so probably not, and charging plasma in Starshadow's mouth is a bad idea since it she'll just waste alot of energy. As for seeing in the dark as a panther, that is true to a degree. Cats and many animals that can see in the dark are more "Low light vision", their eyes can enhance the levels of light in the area. If there is no light period, she'd still be walking blindly.
Okay then.. so who's the new scouting team for the cave/maze/dungeon mission? I'm guessing Glowstick is a definite for that mission, and also how is the radio being blocked. From how the materials that construct the place, energon radiation to reduce the range, radio jamming, or the Vok messing with the laws of physics to remove parts of the light spectrum?
NK, you keep forgetting about Nemesis.. she too prefers close combat to firing at stuff in the distance. But she is claustrophobic, so having her in a cave might not turn out so well..
Nemesis: Nemesis seems completely unlikely to teach ANYONE martial arts, she has no interest in the predacons other then to use them for space technology, so Steelclaw coming up to her and asking about close combat is less likely to be taught. But that would probably lead to some character development, or at least character interaction on her part. I also agree that sending her on the mission probably wouldn't workout due to her claustrophobia, and also since Nemesis and Glowstick don't get along, not to mention Primal probably wants to murder her...
Starshadow:While has command background, Starshadow is far too selfish to teach anyone else anything, not to mention her fighting style is like that of a berserker, not something he could utilize in his soldier like style. Think more Sousuke from Full Metal Panic's tactical nature over say.. Doom Marine's "Rip and tear, you are big, so you must have big guts! RIP AND TEAR!"..er style.
Whitegrazer: Is a maximal, but other then that would be a perfect background for learning close combat from having been a soldier in her past. But on the other hand.. they're enemies so Whitegrazer's teachings would take forever from interactions on the battlefield.. like a 12 step program from the pit.

If Steelclaw is a good visual learner, he could pick up a few moves from the spars between Dinobot and Venatrix. I'm sure if you put them together in an inescapable place, they'll end up fighting anyhow As for the scouting team, I'd say send the Maximal flyers:
Optimus Primal
Valkyrie
Feralnight
Airazor
Flyers tend to have lower durability, so once they realize they need back-up, they can call for ground forces as reinforcements led by either Rhinox or Saber-Fang.

I've just thought of an awesome idea. How about after a long time being stuck in the temple, the characters reached to a large room as big as a battlefield. Then, the canons and the OCs have to fight their OWN CLONES (which includes Clear Convoy who commands Team Clones) in the room. If the idea isn't that interesting, I guess you guys could scratch it out.
